The $19,953,668 facility, slated to open in summer 2025, was approved as part of the 2018 capital bond referendum by Alamance County voters. Providing rigorous training opportunities for Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) students, and local and statewide first responder personnel, the Public Safety Training Center will be the only such facility in central North Carolina. It will include a 15,000 square foot classroom building, a 14,000 square foot indoor firing range, a specialized fire training tower, and an emergency driving pad pavilion.

Dr. Ken Ingle, in particular, recognized the presence of NC State Senator Amy Galey, NC State Representative Dennis Riddell, and NC State Representative Stephen Ross. Ingle saluted their unwavering support for ACC’s agenda, especially working together to include $5.5 million in the General Assembly’s 2023-2024 budget for the Training Center.

In addition to numerous elected officials, first responders, and numerous other special guests, Ingle recognized personnel from the NC Law Enforcement Training and Standards Commission: Director Jeffrey Smythe, Deputy Director Michelle Schilling, and Region 2 Field Services Coordinator Jason McIntyre.
