Nick Boudreau, Coordinator of Career Education at Alamance Community College, has earned recognition as a Career Services Provider, a professional certification of demonstrated competence in the essential skills needed to provide career services in any academic or career setting.

Boudreau completed the National Career Development Association's (NCDA) Certified Career Services Provider (CSP) program during the summer of 2024. It involved 120 hours of coursework and covered foundational career development topics like career assessments, career counseling techniques, job search skills and strategies. The final assessment was a series of essays that required him to show competence in a few of the core concepts in career services.

“This is a great achievement by Nick that required a lot of hours and final assessments,” said Dr. Connie Wolfe, Executive Vice President.

In his position in Career Education at ACC, Boudreau oversees and coordinates the college’s career services efforts, including creating pathways toward career success for students. Among the services Boudreau provides are career counseling and advising, job search assistance, internship and job placement services, and workshops and events for employers.

Prior to his employment with ACC, Boudreau was a full-time graduate student at Elon University in its Masters of Higher Education program.

“Earning the CSP credential has been a great help for our department strategically because I connected with a great mentor throughout the process,” said Boudreau. “My mentor helped me uncover where we can improve at ACC to move our department forward. I feel much more equipped to support students through any of their career-related needs now, and am looking forward to continuing to spread that knowledge throughout the college.”
