STEM LAB

Located in Room 391

The STEM Lab  provides an open space for all students. All ACC students, faculty, and staff are welcome to utilize the STEM Lab. Drop in to do homework, work with a study group, or ask questions. Subjects tutored in the STEM Lab are mathematics, chemistry, physics, computer science, engineering, geology, and Spanish.

No appointments necessary – come see us any time during the hours below:

The focus of the STEM Lab is peer collaboration and discovery, under the supervision of math instructors. The STEM Lab is intended to promote a positive atmosphere about doing, and being successful in STEM subjects.

Use ACC’s Edready to study for ACC’s math placement test, review core concepts such as working with fractions and factoring, or improve your pre-calculus algebra skills.  

Below are instructions for using EdReady to review for the math placement test.

  • Go to the following website: alamancecc.edready.org
  • Click on “Get Started”
  • Fill in the information to sign up for EdReady
  • Click on “Sign Up for EdReady”
  • Go to your email and click on “EdReady Support” in your mailbox.
  • Click on the link within the email.
  • Put in your email address and the password you created.
  • Click on the following DMA: __________
  • You will be prompted to add this goal to your account.
  • Under “Your Goals,” you should see the “DMA Placement Prep” you selected
  • Click on the “Go to Goal” underneath the picture
  • When ready, click on “Start Assessment”
  • There is no time limit on this assessment
  • Once your assessment is complete, you will be provided a study plan in EdReady that will assist you in mastering the content.
  • When study plan is completed, contact Melissa Cook for DMA assessment.
