Craft Your Passion into Skill: Master Woodworking at ACC
Delve into the captivating world of woodworking in our comprehensive classes, designed for beginners through advanced students. Led by expert instructors, each class offers a unique and immersive experience in different aspects of woodworking.
Wood Carving
Learn the various types of carving along with basic carving techniques, tool care and safety measures. Students will be working on such things as walking sticks, relief carving, caricature carving and spoon carving.
Wood Turning
Students will learn how to design a one of a kind project using the wood lathe and
various hand tools. Students will learn the difference between faceplate turning vs
spindle turning. Instructors will work with students individually to develop new skills
and improve old ones.
Woodworking Basics
Perfect for the beginner student or students who want to learn basic woodworking and finishing techniques. Students will learn the safe operation of various power tools including table saws, drill presses, jointers, thickness planers and band saws and create a simple project. Instructor will work with each student on an individual basis to customize a simple project.
* No class on Labor Day - no class on Thanksgiving
Woodworking Intermediate
Students will expand on the basic knowledge and safe operation of various power tools
and begin to make more involved projects.
Prerequisite: Basic Woodworking or a basic knowledge of woodworking with prior experience.
Woodworking Advanced
Designed for Intermediate to Advanced students. Students will learn advanced methods
of woodworking and use these skills to make advanced items like cabinets, toolboxes,
grandfather clocks, tables, chairs, etc. Classes will take the student from wood selection
to final finishing. Instructor will work with students to develop new skills and enhance
existing ones.
Prerequisite: Intermediate level with prior woodworking experience.
