Expanding your Plant Palette with Plant Identification: Online

This is a fully online course that can be completed from the comfort of your own home! It is designed for Homeowners or budding green industry members to gain an understanding of how plants are named and classified.

After gaining an understanding of this knowledge, you will start digging in to learn how to identify many of the common landscape plants for central North Carolina. Once you have this basic understanding, you will be amazed at how many plants you can identify!

This course will run for a period of 5 weeks with approximately 2 hours of materials presented online each week asynchronously. There will not be a specific time that you will be required to sign in during the week which allows this course to fit into your schedule.

Digging into Soils

This course will cover the importance of soil in our gardens, landscapes, and everywhere! We will look at the different types of soils and their physical properties. Through this course you will also learn how to collect soil samples allowing you to learn about the fertility of your soil and how to make needed improvements.

This class is fully online and self-paced.
