This class is a comprehensive introduction to retail floral design, combining practical skills with business knowledge. It will equip students with skills applicable to various roles in the retail floral industry.

- Retail operations in the floral industry
- Floral Design and Structure: Understanding the principles of arranging flowers and creating visually appealing designs.
- Care of Plants and Flowers: Learning how to maintain the health and longevity of flowers and plants.
- Flowers and Foliage Classifications: Identifying different types of flowers and foliage and their uses in design.
- Care and Handling of Fresh Flowers and Plants: Techniques for handling and preserving the freshness of floral materials.
- Business Instruction: Insights into the daily operations of a retail florist, including customer service, inventory management, and sales strategies.
Classes will meet 2 hours per week plus 1 hour online.
